The Ocotillo plant is native to The Sonoran and Chihuahuan deserts and has adapted to thrive in hot, arid climates, blossoming once a year with bright red flowers on a backdrop of vast sky. This silkscreen abstracts the form of the Ocotillo plant and watercolor by the artist’s mother. The text at the base of the print reads: “Where the Light Comes In - Rooted in Community, Blossoming With Resilience.” This print is a quiet reflection on the resilience we inherit from our relationships with each other and from the land with which we live.
