We must break the systems that keep us from thriving, a process that takes years, much like a tree's roots breaking through sidewalk cement. Slow and striving to thrive over time. This edition was made in my living room, meaning that you can definitely see the "artist's hand" in each print. There are slight differences in ink application with each print, as I hand pressed each print with a wooden spoon. The tree trunk is carved on a woodblock while the text and foliage was carved on a linoleum block. They each bring their own qualities to the print.
