Inspired by the political cartoon from 1754, "JOIN, or DIE," attributed to Benjamin Franklin, the fragmented snake in this print takes the form of an AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle. Each fragment of the snake represents one of the 50 states of the U.S. with the addition of D.C. and Puerto Rico. The image suggests that the U.S. has to unite and move forward on gun-control reforms.
