I made a drawing of this image shortly after the 2016 election as a means of processing the path Americans had elected to take. Two years later, the demand of a border wall continues, fewer and fewer refugees are given asylum, federal agents separate families and detain children, birthright citizenship is up for debate, and now the military is marshaling to deter those seeking aid. Unfortunately this print is our present.
